San Diego Beer Run

San Diego is quite possibly the new Microbeer Mecca. We have some of the best breweries in the country. Ballast Point, Stone and newer smaller microbrewies like Manzanita and Hess. Then last night we found out about the "cool bus".

It all started with a 6 mile run from the San Diego Running Institute at 6pm. We ran to the top of Waring road and then sped back down the hill to SDRI. We quickly changed and headed off to our first stop, Toranado. This gem on 30th was sporting some pretty serious seasonal brew. I think my favorite was "Wreck the Halls". Now for the great part. This "cool bus" picks us and others up for free and takes us to our next destiantion Blind Lady Alehouse on Adams. Evidently the Cool Bus is a free service that takes beer lovers from tap room to taproom FREE! It happens one Wednesday every month.

We had some pretty serious port beer at Blind lady and we each polished off a personal pizza too. This place was probably the most crowded I have ever seen a Pub on a Wednesday night.....good vibe too. We stayed for awhile before getting back on the Cool Bus and landing at Small Bar in University Heights. We drank there for the rest of the night soaking up some STONE.

We were suppose to run the next morning but somehow none of our alarm clocks were working. Guess I will have to run off all that great beer tomorrow then.

Maybe next year we will organize weekday run to and from some of these great local establishments or just wait for Wednesday to come and boeard the Cool bus.
